Equestrian camp - dorset

1 - 3 April 2025

In April 2025 a small group of FWC ladies will take part in our first FWC equestrian camp, inspired by our 2023 expedition Ride to Freedom. The camp will be hosted at the RAC Saddle Club in Bovington, and the group will take part in a mix of riding sessions over 2 days.

DO I HAVE TO BE A FWC MEMBER TO APPLY?

Yes, to apply to participate in this challenge, you have to be a member of FWC. Please use this LINK to read our membership policy. If you are eligible to become a member and have not yet signed up, please sign up HERE prior to applying for the challenge.

HOW WILL PARTICIPANTS BE SELECTED FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Applications for this challenge will be open between Tuesday 12th November and Tuesday 19th November, and following this, names will be drawn at random to allocate the places available. All applicants will be contacted by email w/c 25th November to confirm whether or not we have been able to offer you a place on this challenge. To apply to take part in this challenge, please do so using this LINK during the application week.

DO I NEED TO ALREADY BE A HORSE RIDER TO TAKE PART IN THIS CHALLENGE?

Yes, this challenge is aimed at competent/experienced riders, who are able to ride at all 4 paces and who have some experience jumping. (There is no set height to be able to jump, as there are lots of options of size jumps on the cross country course and showjumping heights can be tailored to suit the group).

Please note: there is a rider weight limit of 14 stone.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THE CHALLENGE?

The final program will be confirmed closer to the challenge date, but will follow this plan:

  • Tuesday evening - Meet and greet 

  • Wednesday and Thursday - Ride for 3 sessions a day that are an hour long each, and in between riding sessions participants will get stuck in with horse care around the yard.

HOW MUCH WILL THE CHALLENGE COST?

There is a cost of £150 per person, with a £75 non-refundable deposit to be paid within 5 days of being offered a place, and the remaining £75 to be paid 4 weeks prior to the event.
