Discover scrambling - north wales

18 - 20 october 2024

In October 2024 a group of FWC ladies will visit the beautiful Snowdonia National Park to begin their scrambling journey. Under the expert tuition of instructors from Climb 2 Recovery (C2R), participants will experience a relaxed introduction to the basics of scrambling. Staying at the lovely Rhyd Dhu bunkhouse, the weekend is sure to be a perfect balance of challenge and relaxation.

DO I HAVE TO BE A FWC MEMBER TO APPLY?

Yes, to apply to participate in this challenge, you have to be a member of FWC. If you are a female with a partner (spouse or long-term partner) in the armed forces (either serving or a veteran) and are not yet a member, please sign up HERE prior to applying for the challenge.

HOW WILL PARTICIPANTS BE SELECTED FOR THE CHALLENGE?

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THE WEEKEND?

The weather in Snowdonia in October can be quite unpredictable so prepare to adapt as required! The rough outline for the weekend is as follows:

  • Friday evening - Meet and greet 

  • Saturday - Scrambling in small groups

  • Sunday - TBC but likely a morning of scrambling or potentially rock climbing if the weather permits

HOW MUCH WILL THE DAY COST?

There is a cost of £120 per person, with a £60 non-refundable deposit to be paid within 5 days of being offered a place, and the remaining £60 to be paid 4 weeks prior to the event.
