17 - 19 October 2025

In October a group of FWC ladies will visit the beautiful Eryri (formerly Snowdonia) National Park in North Wales to begin their scrambling journey. Under the expert tuition of instructors from Ali Othen Mountains and Paddles, participants will experience a relaxed introduction to the basics of scrambling.

DO I HAVE TO BE A FWC MEMBER TO APPLY?

Yes, to apply to participate in this challenge, you have to be a member of FWC. Please use this LINK to read our membership policy. If you are eligible to become a member and have not yet signed up, please sign up HERE prior to applying for the challenge.

HOW WILL PARTICIPANTS BE SELECTED FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Allocation of places is on a first-come-first-served basis. To apply to take part in this challenge, please do so using the form at the bottom of this page.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THE CHALLENGE?

This event is an ‘Introduction to Scrambling’

CAN I BRING MY DOG ALONG?

Unfortunately we can’t have dogs on this challenge.

HOW MUCH WILL THE CHALLENGE COST?

The cost for the weekend is £145 - A non-refundable deposit of £72.50 to secure your place is due within 5 days of being offered the place, with the remaining £72.50 being due 6 weeks before the challenge.

In the run up to our events, we have found the best way to keep in touch with participants is via a WhatsApp group, which gives an opportunity to ask any questions about the challenge, in an informal manner. It also provides the opportunity for participants to get to know each other, and the event leader before the challenge itself. The group will be set up by FWC and deleted shortly after the event/challenge. Please note that although FWC will not share your telephone number with anyone else, once you are added into the group- the other group members will be able to see your number.
